Our founder & CEO Kate Houston is thrilled this season to be launching a holiday collection with Horizons for Homeless Children, a nonprofit based in Boston whose sole focus is helping children affected by the trauma of insecure housing.

Having started her career in homeless services in the City of San Jose through AmeriCorps, Kate has been involved in giving back to this special community of people her entire career, namely through Project Homeless Connect and the Homeless Prenatal Program in San Francisco.

Since becoming a mother (and moving to Boston), Kate feels deeply that support needs to be increased for this resilient (and growing) group of mothers - who are just trying to secure housing while limiting the trauma instability can cause on their children. After researching several nonprofits in her new city, Kate felt called to help the efforts of Horizons through giving and volunteerism. This collection is her first effort to raise funds for the organization so they can continue (and grow) their incredible work.

Launching on November 1st, The Kind Favor and Horizons for Homeless Children have partnered to create a unique and diverse collection of holiday gifts. Until January 1, 15% of proceeds from this collection will support Horizons.

The thoughtfully curated collection includes cozy and wellness-focused gifts, allowing customers to spread holiday joy while making a positive impact. This partnership is a chance to give gifts that not only bring joy to recipients but also benefit children and families in need.
